in 1987 as a controller, and was promoted to vice president-controller in 1998. CUSTOMER SERVICE should always be #1 & she was not offering that at her check stand.During Smith's tenure with Stater Bros., the company grew from fewer than 100 stores to more than 170 locations throughout Southern California, the company said in a release. Well, it was two, but THAT is not the point. She corrected the situation but was less than apologetic when she made light of the situation by saying "it was only one item". Obviously NOT paying attention to her job. Then, the gentleman in line behind me noticed she started to ring his items along with mine. I did bring it to her attention that I had a case of water on bottom of basket as she nodded & went back to converse with her associates. Never stopped talking to her clerks, never once acknowledged that I was there no greeting. The whole time I was loading my items, the cashier was discussing her plans (with two of the box clerks) on what she will be purchasing for her boyfriend for Valentine's Day. I was very disheartened when I approached the check stand & proceeded to put my items on the belt. I am a frequent shopper at various Sater Bros markets however, Palm Desert (off of Varner & Washington) location is closest to my residence. It is evident, by how consistent you are when you have your sales or your everyday prices. Who else is going to put ribeyes or meat on sale, the way you guys do. I have always loved your stores, you guys take better care of your customers than any other store. Just kinda of a bummer way to start my day. Or break you, I will go back to the Stater Brother on Warner and Goldenwest in Huntington Beach, they know me there. I don't think it was going to throw off your sales. I am not going to buy something I don't like or will not eat. I wasn't asking for ten pounds, just two pounds, that was all I could afford. This was the first time anyone behind the butcher counter has ever said that to me. I was told I could only have one pound of the flat tips and the next pound had to be mixed. I asked for the tips, because I don't like the drumettes. I went to store 77 this morning, All I wanted was two pounds of the chicken wings that were on sale.

If you have any other questions or concerns you can feel free to reach me at. I felt alienated, attacked and discriminated by this individual and hope this incident is addressed to avoid future issues I am reporting this incident as I would like to ensure that future customers do not have the same experience as i did or have an impression that this is acceptable behavior of the Stater Bros organization. She came around to the other side were I was swiping my card she practically grabs the card from my hand as with a angry voice she says WHAT KIND CARD IS THIS waving THE CARD in my face I answer her a company card the says WELL YOUR COMPANY SHOUDNT BE SENDING CARDS that DONT work smirking her lips making sounds of in a disgust maner she humiliated. The whole experience brought me great emotion distress and I'm sure if you pull up the video footage of this day you will clearly see her body language was not respectful in any way. I felt her attitude was completely derogatory and felt degraded in front of other customers. The cashier's demeanor became very passive aggressive and made rude degrading comments about what kind of card I was using in the first place since it wasn't chipped. I proceeded to contact my employer to report the issue and help complete the transaction. Upon paying for my items the card was experiencing some difficulty in processing.

I had a company card that was issued to me to complete my transaction. Unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. I was purchasing items to exacute a in store event.
